Longevity services are comprehensive, preventive healthcare offerings focused on extending a woman’s healthspan—the years lived in good physical, emotional, and cognitive health. Rather than waiting for symptoms or chronic conditions to develop, longevity care prioritizes prevention, early detection, risk assessment, and personalized treatment planning.
In women’s health, longevity services often center on, bone density, cardiovascular health, metabolic function, cancer prevention and hormonal issues. These factors influence not only lifespan, but also daily energy, mood stability, weight regulation, sleep quality, and overall well-being. Through advanced testing, ongoing monitoring, and individualized care plans, the longevity services offered at Women Wise Holistic Healthcare and Wellness aim to support optimal health before, during, and after midlife transitions.
Women Wise Holistic Healthcare and Wellness offers a broad range of longevity services tailored to each patient’s health history, goals, and life stage.
Menopausal (or perimenopausal) Hormone Therapy (MHT) is a foundational offering, particularly for women experiencing perimenopause as well as menopause. Carefully customized and monitored hormone therapy may help address symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood changes, brain fog, vaginal dryness, and decreased energy. While there are other modlities other than hormones for hot flashes or vasomotor symptoms, the menopause society does not recommend or advocate hormone treatment for the prevention of dementia, cardiovasular disease, or overall wellness and energy and only for the indication of vasomotor symptoms. (hot flashes). Even though estrogen may be helpful, because the appropriate studies have not been done to confirm benefit for the above mentioned medical issues, and women need to be a individually assessed to be in the 10 year hormone replacement benefit verses risk window, bioidentical estrogen therapy is only recomended for vasomotor symptoms and the prevention (not treatment) of osteoporosis.
Management of health in menopause management beyond hormone therapy alone, is a key component of longevity care. Treatment plans include lifestyle guidance, nutritional counseling, ways to improve and enhance immunity as well as strategies to protect bone and cardiovascular health during and after the menopausal transition.
Preventive cardiovascular screenings are another essential service, recognizing that heart disease remains THE leading health risk for women. These screenings may evaluate total and differentiate cholesterol levels, partical size, inflammation markers succh as Lipoprotein a, Lipoprotein b, C-reactive protein, homocysteine, blood pressure weight and obesity, blood sugar levels, coronary calcium scores, pregancy history and adverse outcomes, family history, and coronary risk calculators that can estimate a woman's current personal individual 5 and 10 year risks of experiencing a cardiovascular event (due to athlerosclerotic heart disease) and other indicators to identify cardiovascular risk EARLY.
Cancer screenings are integrated into longevity care to support early detection and long-term health. Based on age, family history and individual risk factors, patients receive guidance on appropriate breast, cervical, and other relevant cancer screenings. Starting at age 30 (sometimes sooner based on family history) we offer Tyler Cuzik Risk Assessment calculation for ALL WOMEN to assess risk of developing breast cancer in the next 5 and 10 years as well as their life time risk. Depending on family history, we also offer Myriad Genetic Testing, which screens for Breast Cancer genes BRCA1 and BRCA2 to offer additional monitoring and consultation should either one of these values be positive. Even if these tests are negative, if a strong family history of glandular cancers exists, (like in LYNCH syndrome) we often refer to "Family Risk Assessment programs that offer additonal testing and closer monitoring such as the "Family Risk Assessment Program at Fox Chase Cancer Center or similar programs at MD Anderson Cooper, or Main Line Health.
Stress Management counseling (especially for type "A's" or those that are impatient) , cortisol assessment, sleep hygiene, and nutritional counseling, further support longevity by addressing metabolic health, hormone balance, and inflammation. Personalized nutrition plans are designed to support healthy aging, energy levels, weight management, the gut biome, digestive health and immunity.
